祖霊神（それいしん）

こんにちは、ミカです。

今回（こんかい）は、神道の信仰（しんこう）対象（たいしょう）の２（ふた）つ目、「祖霊神（それいしん）」についてお話（はな）しします。

「祖霊神」とは、亡（な）くなってから神様（かみさま）になったご先祖（せんぞ）様（さま）のことです。まだ生（い）きている子孫（しそん）のことを見守（みまも）ってくださいます。

また、春（はる）になると山（やま）から田畑（たはた）へ降（お）りて実（みの）りをもたらし、秋（あき）の収穫（しゅうかく）が終（お）わると再（ふたた）び山へ戻（もど）って行（い）かれます。

そして、新年になると「年神（としがみ）様（さま）」となって家々（いえいえ）を訪（たず）ね、私たちに幸（しあわ）せを運（はこ）んで来（き）てくださいます。

「年神様」をお招（まね）きするために、私たちは年末（ねんまつ）に「大掃除（おおそうじ）」をします。

家（いえ）がきれいになったら、「門松（かどまつ）」を玄関（げんかん）の脇（わき）に２（ふた）つ置（お）き、「しめ縄のお正月（しょうがつ）飾（かざ）り」をドアに掛（か）けます。

「門松」は、年神様が迷（まよ）わずに子孫の家へ来（こ）られるようにするための目印（めじるし）です。

「しめ縄のお正月飾り」には、「家がきれいになりました」というメッセージがあります。

また、魔除（まよ）けの効果（こうか）もあると言（い）われています。

そして子孫の家へやって来た年神様は「鏡餅（かがみもち）」に宿（やど）り、子孫たちと共（とも）にお正月を過（す）ごすのです。

“Ancestral  spirits”

Hi, this is MIKA again!

This time, I’ll tell you about the “Ancestral spirits”, the second target of faith in Shinto.

“Ancestral spirits” are the ancestors which has become to “Holy spirits” after the death. They are watching over their descendants who are still living.

And they come down from the mountain to their descendants’ fields of rice and other crops to give them a ripening in spring.

After a harvest in autumn, they go back to the mountain again.

And in new year’s holidays, they visit their descendants’ home as “Toshigami-sama”, the “Holy spirits” which bring the happiness for us.

To invite “Toshigami-sama”, we do general house cleaning in the end of that year.

After their house become clean, they put two “Kadomatsu” at the side of the entrance, and “The rope wreath for new year’s holidays” on the door.

“Kadomatsu” is the marker for “Toshigami-sama” to come to their descendants’ home without getting lost.

“The rope wreath for new year’s holidays” is including the message; “Our home has been cleaned up!”.

Also it has an effect to ward off evil spirits.

After coming to the house, “Toshigami-sama” lives in “Kagami-mochi” to spend new year’s holidays with their descendants.

How about that?
